Dominique Pinon

After studying at the Poitiers faculty of letters, Dominique Pinon moved to Paris and enrolled in the Simon Course. Very quickly, he is spotted by Jean-Jacques Beineix, who makes his film debut in Diva.
In the 1980s, he worked with directors such as Arthur Joffé, Jacques Richard, Jean-Claude Missiaen, Roman Polanski or Michel Drach in Save yourself, Lola.
In 1983, he was nominated for the Best Male Caesar for Daniel Vigne's Return of Martin Guerre. His collaboration with Beineix continues with La Lune in the channel and 37 ° 2 in the morning.

His career took another turn in 1990, when he met Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro. These two directors choose Dominique Pinon as the central character of Delicatessen. The general public discovers an atypical and engaging actor. A great collaboration then begins with Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who will play a role in Dominique Pinon in all his films. With him he will even turn to Hollywood (Alien, the Resurrection) at the request of Sigourney Weaver who was very keen on his participation.
He is seen in many supporting roles, but he still has some great roles in films such as Victor, The Crazy Cavalry or Dikkenek.

Then in 2007, he played the lead character in Claude Lelouch's Roman Station movie, a film that the director finally recounts with critics.
He has worked with Jean-Pierre Mocky on several occasions. The Palmashows are calling on him in 2016 for their first feature film The Mad Story of Max and Leon.

He also toured French borders with, among others, Alex de la Iglesia (Crimes in Oxford with John Hurt), Javier Fesser and Esteban Ibarretxe for Spain. Roman Prygunov, the Russian director of Doukhless (a big hit in 2012 in Russia), convinced him in 2014 to join the cast of the sequel to the film they will be shooting in Bali. In The Bridge of King St. Louis (not widely distributed in France) by Irish director Mary McGuckian, he will have the privilege of working with Robert De Niro and especially Harvey Keitel with whom he will have a very rewarding collaboration. He has also worked in Germany, England, Italy and the USA.

At the theater he has performed in memorable scenes by Gildas Bourdet, Jorge Lavelli and Valère Novarina, who will write some texts specifically for him. In 2004, he won the Best Actor Molière for the play Winter under the table of Roland Topor, staged by Zabou Breitman.
For television, he participated in season 2 of Outlander, an Anglo-American series that is shown in France on Netflix. He is nominated for the Saturn Awards for this series. Since 2015 he has been playing in the Cassandre police series broadcast on France 3, which has been very successful.
